Scott K. Laudeman, CFA

Scott brings over 30 years of investment and relationship management experience to his role as Portfolio Manager and Wealth Management Advisor. As a portfolio manager, Scott works closely with clients to construct and manage a portfolio specific to their investment objectives. Scott also advises high-net-worth individuals and families in wealth, trust and estate planning. Prior to working at First American Trust, Scott founded and managed a registered investment adviser providing investment management, financial planning, and financial consulting to individuals. Scott’s financial services career started with a mutual fund distributor acquired by BlackRock. During his 22 year career at BlackRock, Scott managed investment relationships for financial institutions. Prior to BlackRock, Scott worked for Chevron as a petroleum engineer.

Scott earned a B.S. from the University of Southern California and an M.S from the Colorado School of Mines. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Charterholder. Scott was elected by the CFA Los Angeles membership to a 3 year term on the Board of Governors.

Scott was previously the Chairman of the CFA Los Angeles Ethics and Advocacy Group and taught the Private Wealth Risk Management curriculum in the USC/CFALA CFA Review Program. He is an advocate for the financial and investment needs of seniors and the elderly. Scott has moderated panel discussions to educate financial advisors on the unique issues facing seniors and the elderly. He has led and presented programs to educate older adults on financial issues.

Scott is an Eagle Scout, the father of three Eagle Scouts, and a former Scoutmaster. Scott has hiked and backpacked with his family and scouts in the San Gabriel Mountains, the Southern Sierras, the Rocky Mountains of Colorado and the Sangre de Cristo Mountains in the Philmont Scout Ranch of New Mexico.
